Pittsburgh Modular Announces the Return of the ADSR

The Pittsburgh Modular ADSR is back. The new version offers the exact same functionality of the original module hidden behind an updated panel design.

The Pittsburgh Modular ADSR is a four stage envelope generator with independently adjustable Attack, Decay, Sustain, and Release stages. This module does one thing amazingly well: the ADSR smooths the shape of the incoming gates and triggers to produce a more expressive instrument. The ADSR output can be used to control the amplitude of an oscillator, the cutoff frequency of a filter or any other function on a module that accepts control voltages.

The ADSR begins shipping to our dealers this week. More information is available at pittsburghmodular.com/adsr

Pittsburgh Modular Announces the TimeRunner Limited Edition Module

The next generation of time has arrived with the fourth module of our limited edition line. The TimeRunner is a logical pattern generator. An analog clock divider and programmable pattern creator. The TimeRunner utilizes a voltage controlled dual logic core to create a wide range of programmable gate patterns. Starting with a single clock source and dividing it down into four unique channels, the TimeRunner creates the foundation for complex gate patterns. The output of each channel is based on a complex relationship between the clock source, a clock divider, and a chain of switchable and voltage controlled logic options. The result is a unique and extremely musical patten generator.

The module is available now exclusively at pittsburghmodular.com. Production of the TimeRunner was limited to 50 modules and once it is gone, it is gone.

A Reimagining of the Timetable
The first module designed from scratch specifically for the limited edition line, the TimeRunner was not meant to simply be a redesign of the classic Timetable module. Both the Timetable and TimeRunner modules focus on the idea of controllable logic but the TimeRunner expands on that concept in a whole new way. The TimeRunner builds on the legacy of the Timetable by offering more complex logic routing, better performance and CV control options, and more musical results.

PITTSBURGH MODULAR PHASE SHIFTER MODULE NOW SHIPPING

The Pittsburgh Modular Phase Shifter is a complex, 16 stage, analog effect module designed to expand on the classic swirls, rich swooshes, and doppler effects associated with the phaser.

The Phase Shifter has a single 16 stage audio signal path to create a very rich, full sound. Phased audio outputs are tapped from stages 7, 8, 15, and 16.  Stages 8 and 16 each have a mix output that allow the phased signal to be mixed with an attenuvertable dry signal.

Four CV inputs, an onboard LFO, and multiple CV routing options allow for maximum flexibility and extremely deep modulation options. The CV inputs are split into 2 groups. The first group of CV inputs controls either all 16 stages or just stages 1-8. The second group of CV input controls stages 9-16 and is switchable on or off. All CV signals routed to stages 9-16 can be inverted. Resonance can be positive or negative and the module will self oscillate in either direction.

To modulate the phase shifter circuit, the module includes a wide range low frequency oscillator. The LFO range varies from 1 minute per cycle to well into audio range. The triangle wave of the LFO is hardwired to modulate the frequency of all 16 channels of the Phase Shifter. External modulation sources are handled using 2 sets of CV inputs. Each set includes an invertible, uni-polar CV input that accepts 0v to 5v modulation signals and a bi-polar CV input which accepts -5v to +5v signals. All of the modulation CV inputs can be used simultaneously and can be mixed with the internal LFO to create very complex frequency modulations. Stages 1-8 and 9-16 can be modulated together or independently using the available switches and CV inputs.

The Phase Shifter module has 2 sets of outputs. The first set outputs the signal at stages 7 and 8 while the second set outputs the signal from stages 15 and 16. The numbered outs (7,8,15, and 16) contain just the phase shifted signal after the selected number of stages. This signal is not mixed with the dry (non-shifted) signal. The Mix outs take the phased signal from either stage 8 or stage 16 and mixes it with the dry (non-shifted) signal.

The Phase Shifter is shipping now.

Read more about the history and theory behind the phase shifter on the Pittsburgh Modular Phase Shifter page.

PITTSBURGH MODULAR ANNOUNCES MOVE [208] DOUBLE ROW EURORACK CASE

The Pittsburgh Modular Move [208] is a fully featured, dual row, eurorack case and power supply designed to safely house and power up to 208hp of eurorack modules. The double row case includes a linear power supply, sliding square nut rails, and removable lid with a side mounted secure twist latch. When attached, the lid fits over the patch cables allowing a fully patched modular to hit the road.

The Move [208] is powered by a 5.0A AC adapter feeding a pair of custom bus boards. The boards provide +12v/-12v/+5v power rails in addition to the eurorack bus system.

More information on the Move [208] case is available at pittsburghmodular.com.

The Move [208] begins shipping to dealers within North America this week. EU and UK versions will be available soon. Suggested retail price for the Move [208] is $599.
